Meditation4Leadership, a leading nonprofit whose mission is to communicate the benefits from a meditation practice to becoming the best version of yourself – both personally and professionally – announced that Clayton Platt has joined the organization as president. In addition, current board member, Lisa Jacobs has taken on the role of chief coaching officer.
According to Steve Cohen, Meditation4Leadership founder and CEO, “The impact of meditation on maximizing one’s effectiveness has never been more pronounced, needed and accepted within organizations of all sizes. The resulting growth in our roster of clients and suite of services, which include live in-person, virtual programs and one-on-one coaching, has called for an expansion of our leadership team.”
Serving as president, Clayton Platt will lead the organization’s growth in strategic alliances and added service offerings, including a 2021 monthly program focusing on how mindfulness and meditation practice can be a tool to combat racial inequality. Prior to this, Clayton – a seasoned team leader in banking and a senior consultant in wealth management – served as a full-time teacher/trainer/coach with global training companies and has used his passion and talent for helping individuals reach their full potential at Fortune 100 companies. Under the tutelage of luminaries Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach, Clayton has participated in the intensive two-year Mindfulness Meditation Teachers Certification program, and during the pandemic alone he has personally led over 50 virtual mindfulness classes.
As chief coaching officer, board member Lisa Jacobs will facilitate the organization’s coaching team working with clients to develop their leadership traits and improve performance utilizing meditation techniques tailored to their specific needs. Lisa is a Certified Workplace Mindfulness Facilitator and completed CTI’s Accredited Coach Training Program and has served in leadership roles on several non-profit boards.
Steve added, “Clayton’s professional experience, deepest passions, and values are perfectly aligned with our mission. With Lisa, her commitment to deepen our mindfulness practice stems from her passionate embrace of courageous leadership; she coaches that mindfulness connects us to the leader within. We’ve never been better positioned to bring the benefits of meditation to business and community organizations.”
